Biografia
Dopo anni di attività nel campo della fotografia, nel 1996 è tra i fondatori del Centro Sperimentale di Fotografia Adams, dove tuttora insegna nei Master e nella Scuola Professionale Biennale.
È ideatore e Direttore Artistico di CascinafarsettiArt – Fotografia e non solo, rassegna annuale dedicata alle arti visive, nonché fondatore della KromArt Gallery.
Nel corso della sua carriera ha curato numerose mostre fotografiche ed eventi artistici, affermandosi come punto di riferimento per molti autori, tra cui Gaia Adducchio, Eliska Barteck, Luisa Briganti, Jean Marc Caimi, Linda De Nobili, Roberta Marsigli, Nour Shems Melehi, Benedetta Montini, Mirko Orlando, Paola Serino, Pino Bertelli, Tano D’Amico, Tomeu Coll, Paola Tornambè, Katia Rossi e numerosi altri.
Nel maggio 2015 è curatore italiano della mostra internazionale Czech Fundamental, ospitata presso il Museo di Roma in Trastevere, prima esposizione in Italia dedicata alla fotografia d’avanguardia ceca dagli anni Venti ai giorni nostri.
Nel 2016 partecipa alla prima edizione della Biennale d’Arte della città di Perugia e, nello stesso anno, assume il ruolo di curatore della rassegna fotografica internazionale Prague Photo.
Nel 2017 idea e cura la mostra 77′ – Una storia di quarant’anni fa, dedicata ai lavori di Tano D’Amico e Pablo Echaurren e allestita presso il Museo di Roma in Trastevere. Nello stesso anno cura il volume Il Piombo e le Rose, pubblicato da Postcart.
Nel 2018 collabora alla realizzazione della mostra Josef Sudek. Topografia delle macerie. Praga 1945, ospitata al Museo di Roma in Trastevere.
Nel 2019 cura, per la prima volta a Roma, la mostra fotografica di Miro Svolik, presentata nell’ambito di CascinafarsettiArt presso Palazzo Velli Expo e successivamente alla KromArt Gallery.
Nel 2023 realizza la campagna di rilievo fotografico del Battistero di Santa Maria del Fiore per conto dell’Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore, nell’ambito delle attività di documentazione e conservazione del patrimonio monumentale.
Nel 2024 progetta e cura, per il Comune di Colleferro, la prima edizione di Cosmo Photo Fest, festival della fotografia dedicato al dialogo tra arte e scienza.
È autore di testi e ricerche nell’ambito della fotografia e dell’arte contemporanea. La sua attività professionale si concentra nella progettazione e realizzazione di cataloghi d’arte e fotografia, con particolare competenza nei processi di stampa IR e UV destinati a gallerie d’arte e istituzioni operanti nel settore dei beni culturali.
Attualmente è partner e autore di AKT – Festival Fotografii Frankenstein, il primo festival internazionale dedicato alla fotografia di nudo artistico, che si svolge nella città di Ząbkowice Śląskie, in Polonia.
After years of active work in the field of photography, in 1996 he co-founded the Centro Sperimentale di Fotografia Adams, where he currently teaches in the Master’s programs and the Biennial Professional School.
He is the creator and Artistic Director ofCascinafarsettiArt – Fotografia e non solo, an annual festival dedicated to the visual arts, as well as the founder of the KromArt Gallery.
Throughout his career, he has curated numerous photography exhibitions and art events, establishing himself as a mentor and point of reference for many artists, including Gaia Adducchio, Eliska Barteck, Luisa Briganti, Jean Marc Caimi, Linda De Nobili, Roberta Marsigli, Nour Shems Melehi, Benedetta Montini, Mirko Orlando, Paola Serino, Pino Bertelli, Tano D’Amico, Tomeu Coll, Paola Tornambè, Katia Rossi, and many others.
In May 2015, he served as the Italian curator for the international exhibitionCzech Fundamentalat the Museo di Roma in Trastevere—the first exhibition in Italy dedicated to Czech avant-garde photography from the 1920s to the present day.
In 2016, he participated in the first edition of the Biennale d’Arte della città di Perugia and, in the same year, took on the role of curator for the international photography festivalPrague Photo.
In 2017, he conceived and curated the exhibition77’ – Una storia di quarant’anni fa(’77 – A Story from Forty Years Ago), dedicated to the works of Tano D’Amico and Pablo Echaurren, held at the Museo di Roma in Trastevere. In the same year, he edited the volumeIl Piombo e le Rose(Lead and Roses), published by Postcart.
In 2018, he collaborated on the organization of the exhibitionJosef Sudek. The Topography of Debris. Prague 1945, hosted at the Museo di Roma in Trastevere.
In 2019, he curated Miro Svolik’s photography exhibition for the first time in Rome, presented as part ofCascinafarsettiArtat Palazzo Velli Expo and subsequently at the KromArt Gallery.
In 2023, he carried out the photographic survey campaign of the Baptistery of Santa Maria del Fiore on behalf of the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore, as part of the documentation and conservation efforts for its monumental heritage.
In 2024, he designed and curated the first edition of theCosmo Photo Festfor the Municipality of Colleferro, a photography festival dedicated to the dialogue between art and science.
He is the author of essays and research in the fields of photography and contemporary art. His professional activity focuses on the design and production of art and photography catalogues, with specific expertise in IR and UV printing processes tailored for art galleries and institutions operating in the cultural heritage sector.
He is currently a partner and contributing artist ofAKT – Festival Fotografii Frankenstein, the first international festival dedicated to fine art nude photography, held in the city of Ząbkowice Śląskie, Poland.
